After breakfast, drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate, where you will meet your team of guides and porters. After completing the necessary registration formalities, you will start the trek through the dense rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you will spend the night.
Today’s trek takes you through the heather and moorland zone, with stunning views of the Shira Plateau. You will pass through the Cathedral Forest and cross the Shira Ridge, where you will have views of the western breach of the Kibo volcano. You will then arrive at Shira 2 Camp, where you will spend the night.
Today’s trek takes you to the east side of the mountain, through the semi-desert landscape. You will have a great view of the Kibo volcano as you make your way to Lava Tower Camp, where you will spend the night. This campsite is located at an altitude of 4,630 meters, which is ideal for acclimatization.
Today’s trek takes you through the high desert, where you will see the unique flora and fauna of this area. You will have a great view of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscape as you make your way to Moir Hut Camp, where you will spend the night. This campsite is located at an altitude of 4,200 meters, which is ideal for acclimatization.
Today’s trek takes you through the alpine desert, where you will have stunning views of the mountain as well as the valley below. You will pass through Lent Hills before arriving at Buffalo Camp, where you will spend the night. This campsite is located at an altitude of 4,020 meters, which is ideal for acclimatization.
Today’s trek takes you through the rocky landscape, as you make your way to the base of the Kibo volcano. You will pass through the famous Senecio forest before arriving at Third Cave Camp, where you will spend the night. This campsite is located at an altitude of 3,870 meters, which is ideal for acclimatization.
Today’s trek takes you through the lunar landscape of the alpine desert, as you make your way to School Hut Camp. You will arrive at this campsite early in the afternoon, where you will have lunch and rest in preparation for the summit attempt later that night. This campsite is located at an altitude of 4,750 meters, which is ideal for acclimatization.
Today is the summit day, where you will start the trek at midnight. You will climb for several hours through the scree and ice, to reach the summit of Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. You will then descend to Mweka Camp, where you will spend the night.
Today is the final day of the trek. You will descend through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will be awarded a certificate for completing the climb. You will then drive back to Moshi for a celebratory dinner and overnight stay.
